The Camden Rotary Club has invited Cates Real Estate Founder Martin Cates to its noon meeting on Tuesday, April 6, to offer insights about the Midcoast housing market. His presentation is the seventh in a series the club is hosting about local economic and workforce development.
Cates will present a market review of existing home sales and inventory of the Camden-Rockport area. He will also talk about what buyers are looking for, particularly individuals in the workforce versus retirees or seasonal owners. And he will discuss the challenges faced by individuals and families who want to live within a reasonable distance of the workplace.
A realtor since 1992, Cates has Midcoast roots that date back to the 1800s. He has worked within the REALTOR® trade association on numerous committees focused on professional development and fundraising to support affordable housing and fuel assistance. He has served on the Camden Select Board, four years as chair, and on various Town committees. Cates is currently on the Knox County Board of Assessment Review.
The speaker series stems from the club’s efforts to promote economic and workforce development and explore solutions to working people’s challenges in finding suitable housing.
The club’s website at www.camdenrotary.org includes recordings of all the talks in this series. Anyone who would like to attend a club meeting can obtain connection details from Stephanie Griffin: firstname.lastname@example.org.
