THOMASTON — Watts Hall Community Players is having a party! It’s a Calypso Cabin Fever Reliever on Saturday, March 28, from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Steelin’ Thunder, a steel drum band from Rockland under the direction of Mike Miller, will be making music for those who enjoy dancing as well as listening.
Formed in 2001, Steelin’ Thunder has 17 members who hail from eight different towns from Belfast to Waldoboro. In addition to the lively tropical music and dancing, there will be limbo and hula hoop competitions.
Admission is free.
Those who plan to attend are encouraged to wear their summer shorts, sundresses, flip flops and sunglasses. Plastic leis and straw hats will be available to wear while they last for the night.
Refreshments and decorations will feature a tropical theme.
“So mark your calendar for this unique dance party!” said WHCP, in a news release. “Donations to support the ongoing improvements for entertainment at Watts Hall will be gratefully accepted!”
