CAMDEN — On Dec. 21, the Camden Snow Bowl warned the public to stay off Ragged Mountain in the ski area while snowmaking and grooming operations are in progress.

“The mountain is closed at this time as we continue with preparations to open to the public,” the announcement said. “No skinning up to ski down. No sledding. No dogs. We beg you to stay off the mountain when the red flag is up. Signs are posted. The gates will have to be locked 24/7 if people insist on trespassing.

“We are working toward opening by Dec. 26 and will post uphill travel times and routes after that. Until then, there is no nicer way to say it: Stay off the mountain.

    “Thank you for your cooperation.”
