CAMDEN — Members of the Camden Rotary Club are selling tickets for their annual Super Raffle. A drawing on Saturday, September 3, will bring prizes of $500, $1,000 and $1,500 to the three winners.
Ticket sales will take place at community events and on weekends at the corner of Elm and Mechanic Streets.
Funds raised will help finance grants to local nonprofit organizations in the coming year. Recent grant recipients include MCH Meals on Wheels, the Knox County Homeless Coalition, Hurricane Island Center for Science,
Sundog Outdoor Expeditions' School Outdoor Expedition program, Merryspring Nature Center and the Knox County Health Clinic (Mid-Coast Health Net, Inc.).
"Year after year, we've appreciated people's generous support of our efforts to help the community," said raffle committee chair Chip Holmes, in a Rotary news release. "With all the challenges that everyone has faced in recent years, we are eager to give generous grants that will benefit those most in need."
The Camden Rotary Club meets at noon every Tuesday, and members of the public are welcome to attend. Information about the club is available at www.camdenrotary.org.
