Kendyl Heyer, a 12-year-old seventh grader at Camden-Rockport Middle School, presented Faith Vautour, recording secretary, and Sharon Danforth, treasurer, of the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry a check for $290 that she raised as part of a school project in  her language arts class.

Kendyl did a project called "World Hunger Needs to End"; at the conclusion of the project, she sponsored a fundraiser to support the local food pantry.

"I need to take one step at a time to stop world hunger and the first step is my local community," she said.
