CAMDEN — Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., will present Boston Music Hall of Famer Johnny A. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m. Maine’s Caroline Cotter will open the show, which takes place during the Camden Windjammer Festival.

Johnny A. has played with the best, according to the Opera House, in a news release, spending several years as lead guitarist of The Yardbirds and serving as Peter Wolf’s (J. Geils Band) music director along the way. His own early band, The Streets, toured with and supported several major artists including Aerosmith and Bob Seger.

“He demonstrates both his playing and arranging genius in this solo show, Johnny A., Just Me … And My Guitars,” said COH. “Using only an electric guitar and looper, Johnny crafts orchestral-sounding renditions of classic rock and jazz tunes.”

"I don't know of any guitarist who does what Johnny A. does," said Opera House Manager Dave Morrison, "his playing is masterful, and the soundscapes he creates are gorgeous and soulful."

“Caroline Cotter returns to the opera house to open the show with her folksy, acoustic Americana, delivered via beautifully varied and assured vocal chops,” said the release.

Tickets are $26 in advance and will be $34 day-of-show. Choose-your-own reserved seats are available online at camdenoperahouse.com; seats will be assigned on a next-best-available at the door.

Show sponsors are the Grand Harbor Inn and 40 Paper.
