Camden Hills Regional High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeats Mt. Ararat in quarterfinals
ROCKPORT - At a home Class A semifinal game Oct. 31, Camden Hills Regional High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team faced a familiar foe(and not just because it's another mountain team!) playing against Mt. Ararat, whom Camden beat in one of their closest matches of the season, 3-0, in September.
Coming on the heels of Camden’s dominant win over Mt. Blue Oct. 29, CHILLS head coach Meredith Messer said the team played, "very well."
"They were unselfish and really attacked in a variety of ways," she said. "The defense didn't give up a single shot on goal so that was amazing, as well. We are excited to move on to the semifinals."
The scoring began about halfway through the first half when Mt. Ararat scored a goal. But there must have been a ghost in the goals because after that they didn’t score again, allowing Camden Hills to score three straight goals.
Camden Hills now advances in the playoffs to the regional finals and plays the winner of the Bangor vs. Brunswick game.
