GORHAM — The Camden Hills varsity ice hockey team hit the road Saturday, Dec. 21 looking to restart its winning streak.

Instead, the Windjammers fell at the hands of Gorham at the University of Southern Maine by a score of 4-1.

Neither team scored in the opening period, while both teams netted goals in the second period.

Gorham collected the first tally of the contest with six minutes left in the second when Aidan Enck scored courtesy assists from Peter Richards and Aiden Owens.

Two minutes later, Nick Tausek scored for Camden Hills to knot the game 1-1 off a Quinn Brown assist.

Third period scores were tallied for Gorham by Andrew Gaudreau (Camden Sawyer assist), Enck and Cole Perrault. The final two goals of the game were on an empty net.

Will Gardner tallied 25 saves in the goalkeeper net for Camden Hills.

“It was a hard fought hockey game on a large sheet of [ice] and I was pleased with the work ethic but we will have to find a way to get more pucks and bodies to the net in the offensive zone moving forward,” said Camden Hills head coach John Magri.

The Camden Hills ice hockey team will play again Saturday, Dec. 28 on the road against Gardiner at the Camden National Bank Ice Arena at 5:30 p.m. in Hallowell.
