Camden Hills girls basketball earns first victory

ROCKPORT — After falling in the first four games of the season, the Camden Hills varsity girls basketball collected its first victory of the season Friday night at home in Rockport. 

In a Dec. 21 showdown with Gardiner, the Windjammers were able to collect a 51-41 victory. 

With the win, the Windjammers now sit at 1-4 on the season with the next game coming Friday, Dec. 28 at home against Erskine Academy. 

Gardiner, meanwhile, now sits at 4-1 on the season. 

The visiting Tigers held narrow advantages in the opening half with a 14-12 after the opening quarter and a 24-23 advantage at the halftime pause. 

Following the third quarter, the Windjammers were ahead 36-31. 

Scoring for Gardiner were Madison Farnham (four points), Katherine Drossel (three), Anna Toman (two), Jillian Bisson (five), Aimee Adams (five), Jaycie Stevens (seven), Alyssa Gould (two) and Bailey Poore (13). 

Scoring for the Windjammers were Anya Babb-Brott (four points), Kaylyn Krul (10), Grace O’Connell (15), Miranda Dunton (two), Audrey Bowman (four), Seanna Montgomery (two) and Kassie Krul (16).
