Camden Hills boys tennis tops Lewiston in regional championship, advances to state championship

WATERVILLE — The top-seeded Camden Hills boys tennis team hit the road to Waterville’s Colby College on Wednesday, June 6 to challenge second-seeded Lewiston in the Class A North regional championship. 

In the end, the Windjammers were able to secure a 5-0 victory over the Blue Devils, thus advancing to the state championship contest set for Saturday, June 9 at 4:15 p.m. at Lewiston High School. 

In the state title game, the Windjammers will be challenged by Falmouth, the Class A South regional champion. 

Camden Hills 5, Lewiston 0  

First Singles: Cooper Russell (CH) over Caden Smith (L) 6-4, 6-2

Second Singles: Charlie O’Brien (CH) over Ben St. Laurent (L) 4-6, 6-2, 1-0

Third Singles: Noah Heidorn (CH) over Sam Frechette (L) 6-3, 6-4

First Doubles: David Poutasse/Henry Cooper (CH) over Jacob Smith/Hayden Bavis (L) 6-2, 7-6

Second Doubles: Jack Lawrence/Travor Iltis (CH) over Jeremy Hepler/Ethan Weiss (L) 6-1, 6-1
