CAMDEN — The Camden Public Library announces its Second Annual Edible Book Festival to be held on Saturday, April 4, at 2 p.m. This event coincides with an international celebration of “Edible Book Day” where clever culinary creations inspired by books are displayed, photographed, judged, and consumed!
“Last year’s inaugural event was a blockbuster, with entries from individuals and groups ranging from a Very Hungry Caterpillar made of fruits and vegetables to marshmallow-topped cakes depicting ‘War and Peeps,’” said the Library, in a news release.
The library invites the community to “eat your words” again this year, and applications to participate can be picked up at the library or found on the library’s website: librarycamden.org. The entry may look like a book in form or shape, or be inspired by a book or author. Home chefs can create a pun of a book title, pay homage to a food mentioned in a book, or celebrate a book character — anything goes!
Prizes will be awarded to entries in the categories “Most Visually Appealing,” “Best Tasting,” “Most Punderful,” “Judge’s Choice,” and “People’s Choice.” Winners will receive prizes generously donated by local businesses.
