    Monday, March 2, 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Puzzle Club. Puzzle-lovers of all ages are welcome to this weekly gathering to socialize and work on puzzle projects together.

    Tuesday, March 3, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Camden Conference Wrap-Up and Discussion. Camden Conference President Matthew Storin will show clips from, and moderate a discussion about, the "best-of" moments of this year's conference, The Media Revolution: Changing the World.

    Wednesday, March 4, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Brain Injury Support Group. This group welcomes stroke survivors, their families, and friends, as well as anyone facing neurological challenges.

    Wednesday, March 4, 4:00 PM to 5:00 PMCreative Art & Journaling. Join this creative group for a different project every Wednesday through June. Bring your own journal. Art supplies provided.

    Thursday, March 5, 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Tech Talk Thursday. Daniel Hart, of Hart Computers, offers a series of free 60-90 minute tech talks on the first Thursday of the month. This month's presentation is Troubleshooting at Home. Free. No registration required.

    Thursday, March 5, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Artist’s Reception for Peter Yesis. During the month of March, visit the Picker Room at the Camden Public Library to view a gorgeous collection of oil paintings by artist Peter Yesis. The Artists’ Reception is an opportunity to meet the Searsport-based painter and view his new work.

    Friday, March 6, 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Explorations: Read-Aloud Group for Adults. Come hear a wide range of fascinating books read aloud by talented local volunteers for 30 to 60 minutes.

    Sunday, March 8, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Cyber Sunday. On the second Sunday of every month the library offers one-on-one 30-45 minute appointments with our Technology Coordinator. Bring your device and your questions — we'll do our best to answer them! Please sign up on the library's website in advance, and let us know what you’d like to discuss.

    Sunday, March 8, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Conscious Parenting Workshop. Jess Day and Nell Dailey will offer a free series of monthly 90-minute workshops at the library to address strategies for effective family communication and creating meaningful connections. The first session will focus on “Parenting with Intention and Developing Deeper Awareness.”

    Tuesday, March 10, 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Changes to Your IRA Under the Secure Act: What You Need to Know. Estate Planning attorney Jesse Bifulco will summarize and clarify the Secure Act changes. Free. Registration is suggested but not required. Call 207-236-4888.

    Tuesday, March 10, 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Knitting. Bring your own knitting project, or try something new! Miss Loraine leads the knitting circle every second Tuesday through June. Supplies provided.

    Tuesday, March 10, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Homebuyer Education. Ryan MacGlashing, Licensed Real Estate Professional, will host a free Homebuyer Education presentation on how to prepare, understand, and navigate the homebuying process. Sign-up is encouraged (but not required) so that Ryan knows how much free pizza to bring! Call the library at 236-3440 to register.

Hugo Heriz-Smith introduces a new branch of his computer consulting company called Modern Elder Tech. He will be specifically catering to the learning style and relevant needs of members of the community ages 50+. Get acquainted at this free session.

    Thursday, March 12, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Second Thursday Book Group: Women Who Run with the Wolves. This empowering new book group will meet monthly on second Thursdays in the History Center to discuss the feminine psyche and reconnect with the visionary attributes of the Wild Woman archetype.

    Thursday, March 12, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Megunticook Restoration Project Speaker Series: Jeff Reardon. The Town of Camden will be presenting a series of talks to provide information to the community about the proposed Megunticook Restoration Project. These talks will allow Camden citizens a chance to hear from involved parties, ask questions, and voice their thoughts. Jeff Readon, Brook Trout Project Director for Trout Unlimited, will discuss “Getting to Yes: Planning for Win-Win Dam Projects in a Polarized World.”

    Saturday, March 14, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Mycological Society Talk: Chaga Mycologist and author David Spahr will give a presentation on Inonotus obliquus, better known as chaga, an ingredient you have probably seen in products ranging from tea to beer. Come learn about the biology and of this northern fungus and what makes it so special to humans.

    SundayMarch 15, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Bicentennial Series: The Unbroken Thread — 200 Years of Spinning and Weaving in Maine. Three fiber artists will weave together stories and demonstrations: Susanne Grosjean, an expert on early American spinning wheels, will work from the Great Wheel; Susan Barrett Merrill, whose ancestors were spinners and weavers from Bloomfield, will spin flax into linen; and Dr. Nancy Payne Alexander will bring a historian's eye to the long and continuous history of Maine women working with fiber.

    Tuesday, March 17, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Global Warming: Moving Beyond the Problem to Solutions. Dave Oakes, Ed.D., Co-director of the Center for Ecological Living and Learning (CELL) will propose what can be done at the individual, family, community, and global level to resolve our climate crisis. This program will focus on solutions to global warming and include time for participant ideas and sharing.

    Thursday, March 19, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Mid-Coast Audubon Talk: Using Trail Cameras to Study Wildlife. Janet Pesaturo, author of Camera Trapping Guide: Tracks, Sign, and Behavior of Eastern Wildlife, will introduce trail cameras, explain how they work and discuss smart camera placement so that you too can capture photos and videos that reveal the secret habits of animals.

    Tuesday, March 24, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Permaculture and Regenerative Food Systems. Rockland-based permaculture designer, teacher, and builder Jesse Watson will discuss an overview of the permaculture design process. Watson will explore how to heal ecosystems, grow perennial food crops, and adapt to climate change using the landscapes around us.

Side by Side: Tales from Behind the Canvas Paint brushes aside, what does it really take to become a fine artist today? Once begun, when does an aspiring artist actually arrive? Author Kim Yesis discusses her husband Peter Yesis's challenging journey into art from her vantage point behind the canvas using readings, anecdotes, and imagery while recounting the emerging strength of her pen.

    Sunday, March 29, 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. "Summons" Poetry Reading by Linda Shepard. Last September the library hosted a vibrant and captivating exhibit of fabric art by Linda Shepard. For her next project, Shepard shifts from quilting to the quill. She will debut and read from her newly published book of poems which she says "represent a tapestry of the passage of time, the cycles of personal growth, and a reverent distillation of life observed."

New Americans in Our Home Town? Members of Camden’s New Mainers Coastal Task Force will host an informative evening to discuss this exciting new possibility. Please come and join the conversation. Resources will be provided, and a community read will be announced. All are welcome!
