Busline League basketball semifinal scoreboard, championship game schedule

The Busline League enjoyed semifinal play for middle school basketball on Thursday, Jan. 24 across the Midcoast and several local schools were in action. Additionally, the championship slate for the large school division has been set. 

Below are the scores and statistics from those games as reported to our sports department.

7th Grade Boys Basketball: Medomak 64, Camden-Rockport 53

Medomak held quarterly advantages of 18-15, 37-27 and 54-40. 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Griffin Spear (four), Owen Reynolds (26 points), Karl Hokkanen (two), Will Duke (17) and Alexander Todd (five). 

Scoring for Medomak were Slavik Moody (two points), Connor Benner (six), Kory Donlin (nine), Sam Moody (eight), Zan Nauyen (14), Nelson Weeks (six) and Aaron Reed (19). 

“Finian Kelly and Landen Tapley provided valuable minutes toward the victory and Sebastian Smith, Kolby Staples, Austin Costa, Henry Gamage and Sullivan Bartlett were key in support of the victory,” said Medomak coach Pat Delahanty of his players. 

7th Grade Girls Basketball: Medomak 38, Camden-Rockport 17

Camden-Rockport held a 9-8 lead after the opening quarter and a 15-14 edge at the halftime pause. After the third, Medomak held a 24-15 advantage. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kyllie Blake (four points), Kaylee Kurr (six), Micaela Lorenzens (two), Eliza Luce (eight), Sara Nelson (eight), Eilee Stelzer (four), Haley Puchalski (four) and Melissa Fogg (two). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were B. Ward (nine points), B. Mackey (six) and L. Martin (two). 

“Great defense was played by Kaylee Kurr, Kyllie Blake, and Eilee Stelzer,” said Medomak coach Andrea Williamson of her players. 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Oceanside 72, Great Salt Bay 28

Oceanside held quarterly advantages of 26-4, 43-15 and 63-17. 

Scoring for Oceanside were A. Hersey (eight points), B. Stasulis (13), S. Hansen (two), A. Mackie (14), G. van Buskirk (eight), E. Sykes (11) and A. Waterman (16 points). 

Scoring for Great Salt Bay were Duncan (two points), Cannon (18), Starer (two), Peaslee (two) and McKenney (four). 

8th Grade Girls Basketball: Camden-Rockport 47, Medomak 39

Scoring for Medomak were Quinn (15 points), Madi (six), Addison (three), Chelsea (four), Emily (five), Trishelle (four) and Cindy (two). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Hannah (six points), Ella (15), Lily (two), Gabby (seven), Lauren (four), Molly (eight) and Mae (six).

8th Grade Girls: #1 Oceanside vs. #2 Camden-Rockport — 10 a.m. 
8th Grade Boys: #1 Medomak vs. #3 Troy Howard — Noon
7th Grade Girls: #1 Oceanside vs. #2 Medomak — 2 p.m.
7th Grade Boys: #1 Oceanside vs. #2 Medomak — 4 p.m.

Admission for the championships will be $5 per family, $2 per adults and $1 for students and senior citizens. All games are played at Medomak Middle School.
