Body recovered from Kennebec River identified as Richmond citizen

    RICHMOND – The identity of the body recovered Oct. 26 from the Kennebec River has been confirmed by the Medical Examiner's Office as that of Mark Johnston, 64, of Richmond.

    Johnston's body was recovered by the Maine State Police/Marine Patrol dive team from the Kennebec River in Richmond Friday, Oct. 26, at 3:10 p.m. 

    The recovery occurred after an extensive search for Johnston, who was reported missing the previous night when he failed to return after moving his 32-foot recreational vessel from a mooring in Richmond to the Town Dock.
