BLUE HILL — Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital will hold its eighth annual Women’s Wellness Fair, Tuesday, June 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., at The Bay School in Blue Hill. With support from Bar Harbor Bank and Trust, the event is free and open to the public, and includes activities and information for women of all ages.

“Blue Hill Hospital is delighted to hold this annual community outreach event,” said Kelley Columber, director of communications at the hospital, in a news release. “This event provides an ideal opportunity for community members to explore local health and wellness resources in a fun, interactive, low-pressure setting.”

Hospital departments from both Blue Hill and Maine Coast Hospital will share information on surgical services, stress management, incontinence, nutrition, strength training, heart health, in addition to blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and diabetes and nutrition assessments.

Several local businesses and organizations participating will highlight important community health and wellness resources as well.

Lori Schaefer, InTheEquation.com, will present a talk titled: “Put Yourself in the Equation and Re-Ignite Your Life.”

The keynote will take place at 5:30 p.m., in the Bay School Math Building. Learn how Lori shed 200+ pounds and took control of her health and her happiness. Her story was featured on NBC TV’s The Biggest Loser.

Registration is required to attend the keynote as space is limited. Register for the free event at www.facebook.com/events/424113075073666/ or by going to Lori Schaefer: In the Equation on Facebook.

Women who attend the fair will also be introduced to complementary healers and practitioners.

The event provides a great opportunity for women to learn about and give alternative therapies a try, according to the Hospital, in the release.

A team of expert hair stylists, make-up and nail artists, and skincare specialists from Amy’s Aveda Salon and Spa, of Ellsworth, will pamper guests with a selection of mini Aveda treatments and rituals.

The event is designed to encourage and inspire women to take care of themselves and each other. Every woman who attends will receive a free gift and is invited to enjoy treats prepared by Blue Hill Hospital.

No registration is necessary.
