“more visible, more centrally located”

BELFAST — Belfast Senior College cuts the ribbon on its new office Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 11:30 a.m., at Belfast Coworking, 17A Main Street, in Belfast. The ribbon-cutting celebrates a new beginning after weeks of hard work by the Senior College volunteer Board of Directors, following the sudden closing of the previous home base at the University of Maine’s Hutchinson Center.

The new office will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and can be reached by phone at 707-6010 or by email at info@belfastseniorcollege.org.

“You can imagine how we felt when we heard the news of the Hutchinson Center’s leaving Belfast,” said Belfast Senior College board president Nancy Perkins, in a news release. “Then we explored our local resources and found this more visible, more centrally located space. All of us at Senior College are grateful to Belfast Coworking for providing us with an affordable office and excited to be joining one of many others in a beautiful co-workers environment.”

Upcoming Senior College events will include a fall semester kickoff event, catered by Bell the Cat, on Thursday, Sept. 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Belfast Boat House, and the start of classes on Thursday, Sept. 21.

Belfast Senior College is an independent all-volunteer non-profit organization, now celebrating 30 years of programming.
