Belfast Free Library announces Earth Day Poetry Contest

BELFAST — April is National Poetry month and Belfast Free Library invites all children and teens to write an original earth-inspired poem to the library’s Earth Day Poetry Competition. Poems may be in any format, and can be dropped off at the library or emailed to sholman@belfastlibrary.org. Please include name, grade/age, school and contact information.
Entries will be judged by former Belfast Poet Laureate Judy Kaber.
There will be prizes for the winners and a reception and reading on Monday, May 8, from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m., for winners, runners-up and participants.
All poetry lovers are welcome and refreshments will be provided.
This program is free and open to the public.
