BELFAST — Belfast Dental Cares Day is Friday, September 13, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This free dentistry day is intended to serve any Maine resident who does not have dental insurance coverage.
On this day, participants will receive, on a first-come-first-served basis; one free procedure per person – one filling or one extraction or one cleaning* – at no charge.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., at 19 Fahy St., in Belfast, and ends after maximum possible participants are registered.
Over the previous three years, Belfast Dental Cares Day, has served more than 270 Maine residents and donated $53,500 in dental services to those who may have otherwise not been able to pay for their necessary dental care.
This year with an even bigger staff, under the supervision of Dr. Allison Piper, more than 100 Maine residents are anticipated to be served. The entire Belfast Dental Care staff participates in this annual community event, which includes two dentists and five hygienists.
*Ages 5 and above. Proof of age and residency required. Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian. Photos of participants may be taken for ID purposes. Participants will be asked to sign a consent or release. Actual treatment provided will depend upon the health of the patient.
