    BELFAST — The public is invited to attend a presentation by Andrew Carpenter, certified soil scientist and founder of Northern Tilth LLC, on Thursday, Sept, 15, at 6:30 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Library. The program is sponsored by the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition.  

    Carpenter will discuss PFAS, addressing concerns that have been expressed, including where they are in our environment and how we can test for them.  

    Carpenter received an M.S. in Plant, Soil and Environmental Science at the University of Maine, and founded his Environmental consulting firm in 2003. He is currently a Board Member of the Compost Research and Education Foundation.

    The Belfast Watershed Coalition works to support conservation and stewardship of natural, scenic and public access resources of the Belfast Bay watershed through research, community building and education.
