CAMDEN — Annie Kassler is a devoted ‘bat advocate,’ creator of Maine Bat Education, and an active member of a number of regional and national bat working groups. The 2017 recipient of the Award for Recognition from the Maine Chapter of the Wildlife Society will be Camden Garden Club’s guest speaker on Thursday, September 26, at the First Congregational Church, 33 Elm Street in Camden.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Tea and coffee will be served at 9 a.m., followed by Kassler’s talk at 9:30 a.m.
In a presentation entitled “Bats – Nature’s Insecticide,” Kassler will expose the audience to the truth about bats and debunk the persistent myths surrounding them. She will demonstrate how to remove a stray bat from your home and also provide the latest update on White Nose Syndrome, the disease which is devastating bat populations across America.
Camden Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine and National Garden Clubs, Inc. Guests and prospective members are always welcome, according to the Garden Club.
