The graveside service for Barbara K. Greeley, 91, of Belfast, who died on December 22, 2021, will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the Morrill Village Cemetery in Morrill. 

Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain Street, Camden. 

 

BELFAST — Barbara K. Greeley, 91, died on December 22, 2021 at Tall Pines Nursing Facility in Belfast. Born in Morrill on June 11, 1930, she was the daughter of Edwin Holmes and Katherine Olive (Gurney) Greeley.

Barbara went to work at the First National Bank in Belfast after her graduation from Crosby High School in Belfast. She continued working at the bank as it transitioned to Depositor’s Trust Company and eventually Key Bank, retiring from work in the loan department in 1987.

She enjoyed golfing at the Northport and Samoset Golf Clubs and loved dogs, owning several collies over the years. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed playing games of croquet, knitting, reading, and an occasional day trip to different places in Maine. She also had a keen interest in every family member, no matter the generation, keeping up with the lives of all of them, appreciating pictures of activities and events of each one.

Predeceased by her sister, Marion Whitcomb and brother, Elbridge Greeley, she is survived by niece Barbara Carney of Bangor; nephews Edwin Greeley and his wife Susan of Morrill, Douglas Greeley and his wife Carol of South Carolina, Neil Whitcomb and his wife Ellen of Fairfield, and Orman Whitcomb and his wife Delores of Winslow; and numerous younger family members.

A graveside service at the Morrill Village Cemetery in Morrill will be announced in the spring.
