UNION — Once again, the People’s United Methodist Church in Union will be offering a take-out supper on Friday, September 25.
“The church has found a tasty and creative way to replace funding that has been lost to COVID-19 and the necessary restrictions on public gatherings,” said the Church, in a news release.
The September meal will consist of Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Corn Bread and Apple Crisp; “a perfect fall supper,” said PUMC.
There will be regular baked beans and vegetarian beans are also available on request. All food is prepared in a clean and sanitized setting by masked and gloved volunteers.
Tickets are $12 per meal and must be purchased in advance by calling Joyce Grotton at 785-2651. The deadline to order your meal is Monday, September 21.
Meals can be picked up at the improvised drive-through at the church on September 25, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Signs at the church will direct the flow of traffic and there will be people to guide you.
The church is located at 21 Depot Street in Union.
One last take-out meal is planned for the month of October featuring Beef Stew, Biscuit, and a dessert which is yet to be determined.
All proceeds from ticket sales are used to support and benefit the church and its work in the community.
