Rockland Public Library will host a virtual author talk with Judith Carpenter on Thursday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m. The talk will take place via the Zoom platform.
The Uninvited Goddess: Awakening to a New Era offers Judith Carpenter's personal stories of struggle and awakening, as an invitation and encouragement for readers to consider their own. According to the Library, in a news release, the author states that she felt called to write the book, through a dream, and was driven to complete it, not knowing how prescient it might prove to be.
"The coronavirus pandemic has launched us all into a 'new era,' and we are awakening to critical, global realities on an almost daily basis," said Carpenter, in the release.
Carpenter will explain the concept of the “uninvited goddess” and discuss what this might signify for the community and for these times. She will also be reading selections from her book and answering questions from the audience.
Judith Carpenter is an Episcopal priest and a resident of Rockland.
