April 15 update: COVID-19 cases rise in Knox, Lincoln, Waldo counties

Wed, 04/15/2020 - 11:45am

AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, April 15, of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 770 cases confirmed across the state.

Across the state, 305 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 24 people have passed. The number of hospitalizations across the state stands at 126.

The Maine CDC Director reports 14,076 negative cases, as of April 15. “Maine CDC will publish negative results once a week on Wednesdays. Because of the number of outside labs that are testing samples from Maine, it is not currently possible to post a complete count of negative tests on a daily basis,” the Maine CDC website states.

By sex, 408 females have tested positive in the state and 362 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC.

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.”

The tables below are updated once each day by noon, by the Maine CDC. Today’s update came at noon.
