BELFAST — Join Unitarian Universalist Church of Belfast at UUCB, 37 Miller Street, Belfast on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m.
“This year we’d like to bring the solstice celebration back to its roots of ritual and music,” said the Church, in a news release. “There will be a beautifully decorated sanctuary, with words and song.”
The whole event remains open to the public this year, by donation only, no tickets required. Donations will benefit "From Above," an organization dedicated to helping local people experiencing homelessness.
This year, the Church has reserved the Boathouse and will have a fire in a brazier on an apron of grass between the boathouse and the beach. This will mark the end to the solstice event and there will be cider and cakes.
Anyone, who can not or does not want to walk down, will be shuttled from the Church door to the Boathouse where they can participate comfortably from inside the boathouse itself.
“We are committed to keeping the event accessible to different abilities,” said the Church.
Contact them if an attendee would need special accommodations in addition to the transportation.
