WALDOBORO — Look for the ArtWalk flags on Saturday, August 10, from 4 – 7 p.m., as Waldoboro celebrates its August ArtWalk. Now boasting 23 participants and supporting businesses (all within a short walk or drive), this town-wide event now includes venues such as a farm, theatre, bookstore, antique shop, art galleries, artist studio, gift stores, eateries, and more.
Stop by one of the participating businesses to check out their ArtWalk event and to pick up an ArtWalk map and event list.
Enjoy original art in its many forms, locally produced cheeses, theatre tours, live music, food, and ArtWalk discounts.
Bring your disc golf equipment and play a game or two on a course. Add to that, Waldoboro’s free and easy parking and no-traffic –jam drives to your evening out.
On Saturday, August 10, a new display of artwork will be presented at 13 Friendship Street, in Downtown Waldoboro, from 4-7 p.m. The theme is “Animals of every kind.”
These depictions by local artists will capture your imagination and challenge your awareness of the artistic nature of animals, said Medomak Arts, in a news release.
Light refreshments will be available.
Medomak Arts is a nonprofit art and gallery center located at 13 Friendship Street in Waldoboro.
The mission is to foster community and creativity for the Medomak region. Medomak Arts highlights the region’s cultural, creative, and historical assets to build both greater awareness and a creative sense of place.

Barbara Vanderbilt at Tidemark Gallery
Opening Saturday, August 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., "The Language of Stone” is a tour de force exhibition of Barbara Vanderbilt’s feeling for the material. Whether it’s Maine granite or Southwestern sandstone, Vanderbilt can almost bring these rocks to life in pastels on paper, according to a news release. Visitors will be able to meet the artist as well as view her work.
