5K and 1 mile run/walk for the animals of Peace Ridge Sanctuary

FREEDOM — Peace Ridge Sanctuary invites the public to join in its first 5K Run for the Animals & 1 Mile Fun Walk Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at the new Northeast Equine Facility in Freedom/Albion. The race is designed to support the lifesaving work Peace Ridge does every day: providing quality care to the animals, rescuing more animals in need and fostering compassion towards all animals.

“The majority of the animals at the sanctuary have come from situations of extreme cruelty and have taught us what it means to endure and to be forgiving,” said Peace Ridge, in a news release. “We are tremendously grateful for your participation, and of any fundraising you are motivated to do.”

Peace Ridge will be awarding vegan prizes to the top fundraiser as well as other top finishers and raffle winners.

“It will be a great day to enjoy the company of fellow animal lovers plus an amazing free vegan BBQ to all participant’s courtesy of Veggie Life,” said the release.

THE RACE/WALK

The land at Northeast Equine is in its early stages of development; however, we do plan to have animals in one of the several enclosures by the time of the event. This unique event is open to all levels of physical fitness & offers breathtaking views of luscious green lands & a charming bridge overlooking a peaceful brook & by October should be even more beautiful with fall foliage.
