CAMDEN — Megunticook Rowing will host the 27th running of the Megunticook Regatta on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at Barrett’s Cove Public Beach, in Camden.
Presented by Megunticook Rowing, rowers of all ages, 12 to 100, are invited to race in single or doubles shells on a 3-mile up and back course along route 52, or on a 10-mile course from Barrett’s Cove Beach to the north end of the lake, circling the islands and upper reaches of Megunticook Lake.
Racing begins at 9 a.m.
“There is no prettier course on which to row and compete,” said Megunticook Rowing, in a news release.
Registration closes on September 7.
A blueberry pancake breakfast will follow the race.
First place in each race will win live lobsters.
The public is encouraged to come watch from the water or shore.
“Even better, contact the president Meg Webb at email@example.com if you would like to be a part of our safety boat fleet in a kayak, canoe, or paddle board,” said the release.
