$2.6 million awarded to support Maine’s COVID-19 response

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — Maine has been awarded $2,681,866 to support the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a news release.

    The funding was awarded through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID).

    In cooperation with the CDC, Maine will use this funding to carry out surveillance, epidemiology, laboratory capacity, infection control, mitigation, communications, and other preparedness and response activities.
