Wed, 03/27/2019 - 11:45am

Whether you are staying very local and attending college at URock, going to a residential in-state school, or planning to attend an out of state school, Federal Financial Aid is complicated.

On Monday, April 8th from 5:30 - 7:00PM UMA Rockland will offer a presentation by a technical expert in financial aid. Teri Mann of Maine Educational Opportunity Centers will review college aid spending to help families gain an advantage, discuss tax incentives and tax tips, and explore alternative aid, like matched savings plans, and other scholarships.

This session is for new, current and others who may be considering a return to college.

Ms Mann said, "Enrolling in college is a big investment no matter where you attend. Many families do not explore all funding options. I hope this session will answer a lot of questions and offer good financial advice."

Preregistration is encouraged by calling the UMA Rockland Center at 596-6906 or by visitng this online page with a registration link, https://newventuresmaine.org/schedules/fundamentals-of-federal-financial-aid-and-ot/.

This session is free and open to the general public.
