Wisdom and the Fear of the Lord
This morning I had an encounter with the Lord that answered my prayer for the gift of wisdom. I especially cover this gift to minister as a prophetic word to others. Although words of knowledge, healing, and miracles, are quite dramatic, the gift of wisdom, although more subtle, imparts life changing council, understanding, and direction. Like King Solomon, it leads to prosperity, spiritual receptivity to make wise decisions, releases witty inventions, and favor where even your enemies are at peace.
The book of Proverbs, among many virtues and blessings, states the merchandise of wisdom is better than silver and fine gold. Wisdom brings length of days, riches and honor, her ways are pleasant and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her and happy is every one that retains her. Wisdom is life to your soul and grace to your neck (Prov. 3:13,14,16, 18).
I especially love this scripture “Wisdom imparts a spiritual adorning upon your head, an ornament of grace and a crown of glory shall she deliver to you” (Proverbs 4:9).
I was sitting at my desk this am (4-7-22) when the atmosphere in my upper room where I work, changed. Suddenly, I felt the room filled with the “Fear of the Lord.” I want to tell you when the Spirit of the fear of the Lord shows up, you really want to make sure you’re living right! You don’t have to ask, the fear of the Lord brings out anything that needs to change.
And so, the pathway that leads to wisdom (and longevity) is this, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by Me, your days shall be multiplied and the years of your life shall increase” (Proverbs 9:10-11).
Seek to know the fear of the Lord and you will find wisdom
