West Bay Rotary and Midcoast Habitat for Humanity

Thu, 04/11/2019 - 8:00am

A group of West Bay Rotarians spent Saturday morning working at a Midcoast Habitat for Humanity home in Warren.  On this day, we installed trim, built shelves, caulked, installed door hardware, and painted.

We try to volunteer quarterly to work with Midcoast Habitat for Humanity.  Over the past few years, we have worked on everything from framing to insulation to painting on several different homes.  We never have trouble finding volunteers for these projects because we all love giving back to the community and always have fun doing it.  A couple times we actually met the future owner of the home we were working on and have even been able to work with them on their home.  That’s just a real bonus for all of us.

According to their website, the mission of Midcoast Habitat for Humanity is to work in cooperation with the vision and principles of Habitat for Humanity International, bringing people together to build hope, homes and community and end poverty housing in Knox County, Maine.  The home that West Bay Rotarians worked on today is house number 36 for Midcoast Habitat for Humanity.
