United Midcoast Charities (UMC) recently welcomed KC Christensen as its development manager. In this new position, Christensen will collaborate with current donors, funders, board members and community leaders to expand philanthropic support, write grants and coordinate special events promoting UMC’s grantmaking program.

“I’m delighted to join UMC’s dedicated team to help them accomplish their mission,” said Christensen. “UMC is a vital, growing organization, supporting so many nonprofits that I care about. I love that 100 percent of all donations go directly to our local nonprofits. It’s an amazing way to help people in need, and I’m excited to be a part of it!”

A former CEO and development and communications director, Christensen has managed numerous nonprofit agencies and volunteered on charitable boards across Maine, New Hampshire and California. She has extensive experience in development, fundraising, donor relations, communications, PR, marketing, and community relations. A professionally trained success coach and business trainer, she founded a management consulting company offering personal success coaching, humor, and stress-reduction programs along with business training.
