UMF Graduate "Proficiency Based Education" Certificate Program Coming to URock

The University of Maine at Farmington in response to a need expressed by practicing educators will begin a 4-course graduate education certificate in Proficiency Based Education (PBE) in January through University College at Rockland.

The certificate program, intended for teachers who want to increase skills in pedagogy and content knowledge of PBE, includes fours courses: EDU 568, Communication Tools for Teaching and Learning in Proficiency Based Education; EDU 574 Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for PBE; EDU 575, Instructional Leadership; and EDU 551, Changing Educational Organizations in a Diverse World.

On Monday, December 7 at 4:00PM at University College at Rockland on the 4th floor of the Breakwater Building, faculty from the University of Maine at Farmington will hold an information session and overview of the certificate program, including proposed course schedules. The first course in the sequence EDU 568 will begin in January and be taught fully online. Other courses will be scheduled based on the preferences of those enrolled.
