UMA Rockland's Zero Tuition Pledge to Maine Students - The Pine Tree State Pledge removes the financial barrier to obtaining a college degree.

Tue, 01/05/2021 - 4:30pm

The University of Maine at Augusta is committed to providing affordable access to a university education, and helping students manage the growing costs of a college education.  Through the Pine Tree State Pledge, eligible students* will not pay any out-of-pocket expenses for tuition and mandatory fees. The program is available to qualified and Pell eligible, first year full-time students and transfer full-time and part-time students.

Working adults with some college credits and no degree may find the Pine Tree State Pledge as the perfect opportunity to re-enter higher education and complete their degree.  Degree completion can pave the way for Maine’s workforce to seek promotions, consider career changes, or obtain higher salaries. Additionally, first-year students enrolling after high school graduation, or those considering a transfer to UMA, can save on college costs by taking classes in their community and commuting from home.

UMA’s wrap-around student services ensure that every enrolled student has access to the support needed to succeed and overcome any challenges. These services include academic and career advising, veterans’ services, and new student orientation and can be accessed in person at UMA's campus and at the UMA Rockland Center.

Spring 2021 classes start January 25, 2021 and there is still time to register and take advantage of the Pine Tree State Pledge.
