Fri, 08/24/2018 - 2:30pm

With more than a week to go, the news is that UMA Rockland is still serving and accepting students wishing to start or return to college this fall. The term begins September 4.

"We have many high school students enrolled in "dual enrollment" classes this fall. They are earning both high school and college credit simultaneously," said Rockland's Director Deborah Meehan.  "We welcome more."

In addition she added that others are returning or starting college through some generous scholarship programs, and newly admitted students are still accepting financial aid packages.

"It's very busy at URock right now but we are still happy to work with students no matter where they are in their path," she added."It's not too late."

Enrollment for UMA Rockland for Fall 2018 is currently up about 7% over this time last year.

Meehan noted,"Despite full employment in our area, individuals still see the value of pursuing a college education to get ahead and to be competitive in the job market."
