Towns and Orgs Providing Financial Support

Activity: As home sheltering and business restrictions continue in Knox and Waldo counties, local governments and organizations are responding to basic life support needs.

  1. City of Belfast: April 14, 2020, the Belfast Mayor and City Council announced a Keep the Faith fund to provide relief to Belfast residents who have been laid off or experienced reduced work hour and to provide relief to small businesses located in Belfast that have been forced to close or had a reduction in revenue beyond 25% due to COVID-19.”

    The fund provides $100 grocery gift card per household with additional $50 per child to either the Belfast Hannaford or the Belfast CoOp.

    A grant of $500 will be awarded to qualified small business owners.

  2. Camden Rotary: April 16, 2020, the Camden Rotary Club announced a $5,200 and a $5,000 grant to two area non-profits.The club will review further requests from Knox County and Lincolnville organizations, governments, schools and businesses to address non-medical services directly related to the economic and human impacts of COVID-19.

  3. West Bay Rotary: April 19, 2020, the West Bay Rotary Club announced a matching donation program in coordination with United Midcoast Charities newly implemented Rapid Response Fund. West Bay Rotary will match the first $5,000 of donations made to this donation page
