The Study Hall is pleased to announce that Chris McBride recently joined their staff as a well-qualified upper level math tutor. Chris received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University before embarking on a career in aerospace that found him working on commercial Boeing aircraft, a high-altitude reconnaissance drone for the military and the proposed replacement for the space shuttle (ARES 1) for NASA.  Although he got his start on the opposite coast, in Seattle, he claims that, “math works the same wherever you are.”  

Chris has been tutoring students in math independently for past year in the Mid Coast area. While his background is in engineering, his real passion is teaching. He recognizes the struggles of his current students as those he had during his own education years ago, “I respect the struggle and the person who has it.  I love the moment of relief and joy when the dawning of understanding emerges,” Chris said.  He will be specializing in algebra, trig and calculus (but he’ll share anything else he knows too) and looks forward to helping future students achieve academic confidence and success.
