Carly and Claire Weinberg of Dulse & Rugosa return to Merryspring for this popular workshop all about Maine seaweed on Saturday, March 16

Seaweed is an abundant resource with many practical and culinary uses. In this hands-on workshop guests will learn how to identify and harvest several species of Maine seaweeds, learn about the burgeoning seaweed industry in Maine, sample seaweed foods, and create their own seaweed-based skincare products to take home.

Dulse & Rugosa is a company that creates botanical products out of seaweed and other wild-harvested and cultivated materials from their small island farm on Gotts Island, Maine. The island has no automobiles, stores, and is entirely solar-powered.

The cost of this class is $20, with a discounted rate of $15 for members of Merryspring. All materials are included.
