Prophetic Tidbit: Dinning at the Lord’s Table
In the presence of his enemies, King David expressed his delight in God when he said, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over (Psalms 23:5).
During this time of being sheltered in due to COVID -19, we can find our shelter in the Lord. As David knew, “Those who dwell in the secret place shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalms 91:1). Here in His presence, we find shelter in the fortress of God.
Under the banner of God's love, the Lord sets a table before you in the presence of your enemies. You are not out of sight of the adversary, but you are out of reach. Thus, we can place our trust, faith, and confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ, our rock, and shelter.
Here at His banqueting table, we feast on the bread of life - the Lord Jesus Christ. As we behold His glory, we receive the wondrous light of resurrection life. In His presence there is fullness of joy. The revelation of His heart fills our heart with eternal love. His understanding imparts wisdom and truth. As the Lord of peace, His peace provides a place of rest.
There is nothing more satisfying or fulfilling, then the life-giving fellowship that comes from the intimacy we have with the Father and His Son. As John, the apostle said, "These things we share with you that you may have fullness of joy (1 John 1:3-4). The Lord is our sole desire and the object of our affection and devotion. Nothing else will do, nor should it.
At His table with joy – Roy
