This one-day workshop with writing teacher and coach Kathrin Seitz is a full-on day of generating new writing through exercises, prompts and outdoor observations. Begin with paying attention to what grabs you and leave with a nearly finished piece of prose or poetry.

The morning begins with writing prompts that sharpen our awareness. Next, a walk to the water, observing our surroundings through note-taking, photography, and/or drawing, being curious about what we notice/find.

We return to the house for a savory lunch, then the afternoon focuses on composing a solid piece from the observations that we gathered throughout the morning. The day ends celebrating with a final reading.

BIO: Kathrin Seitz, writer, producer, and professional coach has more than thirty years experience in publishing, film, and television. She has been teaching for over six years in New York City, Newport, RI, Malabar, FL, and mid-coast Maine.

*The title of the workshop is taken from Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s book Textbook Amy Krouse Rosenthal
