UMA Rockland Center Nursing Info Session

ROCKLAND — People interested in a career in nursing are invited to attend one of the many statewide information sessions that the University of Maine at Augusta is hosting on Thursday, December 8, from 5 -7 p.m. The information session will have both in-person and virtual options. Prospective students will learn about local options for earning UMA’s 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, how to transfer credits from the State Community College system, and will be able to view the simulation labs at the various locations.

UMA’s Holistic Nursing Program prepares potential students with skills in clinical practice, communication, critical thinking and writing, research, and leadership. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is rapidly becoming the preferred educational credential for registered nurses. UMA’s program helps students earn this credential by offering a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Holistic Nursing. Holistic nursing focuses on the individualized care of the patient based on the principle that a patient’s biological, social, psychological, spiritual, and environmental aspects are all connected and need to be attended to individually while fostering healing relationships.

There are options for Fall and Spring entry as well as full-time and part-time options to help meet students where they are in their path to a Nursing degree.

Join us in person at the UMA Rockland Center for this information session to learn more about the program, meet with faculty and local advising staff, check out the simulation lab, and learn how to get your nursing career started.

The information session will take place locally at the UMA Rockland Center located at 91 Camden Street Suit 402 of the Breakwater Building.  UMA’s Rockland Center is one of eight UMA centers located across Maine. A virtual option is also available for those not able to attend in person, but prospective students are encouraged to attend in person to view the state-of-the-art nursing simulation lab.

UMA Centers have helped thousands of people connect to UMA courses and degree programs so they can earn the credentials they need to advance in their jobs or to begin new careers. The professionals at UMA’s Rockland Center are experts at helping students pursue their educational and career goals.
