The Study Hall is pleased to announce the addition of Neil Payson to its tutoring staff. Neil recently retired from teaching in the public school and local college systems. He has taught all levels of high school math including AP Calculus and a Dual Enrollment College Calculus class. His experience spans the decades including time at Wiscasset High School, Medomak Valley High School, University of Maine at Rockland, and Thomas College.

“After I opened The Study Hall in Rockport in 2005, I went out into the community to see what educational opportunities existed. Neil Payson was gracious enough to let me sit in on his College Algebra II class. His compassion for his students and his approach to teaching was contagious. I learned so much from him as an educator. From that moment on I attempted to recruit him to tutor,” said Marci Casas, owner of The Study Hall. “It took 13 years to convince him, and I am so honored to have him as a team member on my staff.”

In addition to teaching, Neil has lobstered for the last 53 years aboard his boat aptly called “Aftermath”. The Study Hall is fortunate to have Neil join its team. He is currently accepting students in all upper levels of math including Pre-Calc, Calc, and AP Calc. Neil is looking forward to continuing working with local students to help them achieve their educational goals. To schedule an appointment please call The Study Hall at 236-3949 or email rockport@thestudyhall.com.
