Name: Maple Onion 

Maple Onion is a one year old red coon hound. Picking just one word to describe Maple is nearly impossible because there is so much personality beneath his fur and signature droopy eyes! Maple Onion’s owners describe him as sweet-natured, cuddly, goofy, and spoiled. His unique name has a number of derivatives, but among the most used nicknames are “Little,” “Mapes,” and “Little Prince.” 

Maple has a curious personality and will commonly be found chewing on sticks and sniffing around. He can be a bit dramatic when he needs attention, and will paw and bay when he wants some love. His owners also describe him as incredibly kind, friendly, and sensitive. Some of his favorite things to eat are cucumbers, carrots, popcorn, puppy chow, sticks, and hair scrunchies (not the best snack haha!). He loves eating, playing with his friends at the dog park, going on car rides and walks, sleeping and snuggling under the covers, sleeping in front of the woodstove, giving kisses, and drinking water from the bathtub (he definitely has an interesting taste)!

When asked about what they love so much about him, his owners said “All of it. Honestly. We are obsessed. There’s nothing more special than having a deep bond with an animal. We just love him so much. IF we had to pick one thing we enjoy most, it would have to be the snuggling. Maple loves to get completely under the covers and circle around until he plops down on top of you and eventually slides down to rest at your side, curled in a little ball.” You don’t have to talk to Maple’s owners long to realize how much they love him, and how important he is to their family.
