Have you ever wanted to write lyrics? 

The thought has crossed my mind more than once. I remember, late one evening in 1969, sitting in my Greenwich Village apartment on Cornelia Street as the urge to song write fluttered through my mind. My husband, at the time, was hanging out with Patti Smith and a couple of male songsters. They spent a lot of time at The Chelsea Hotel. My husband would come home with stories about his friends and I felt intimidated, envious, and if I’m being honest, a bit abandoned. I wanted to be included; I wanted to write songs.
