The best way to prepare for a new school year is to show up in September ready to hit the ground running.  Student who prepare for their new courses over the summer have an easier transition because they understand and can recall all that they learned the year before.  How can you help your student achieve that level of readiness?

Summer is a great time to unwind and relax, yet it is a terrible time to let all your hard work from the prior school year slip away.  With just a little effort, a few review sessions, and some focused attention your student can be ready in September for a whole new year.  What a difference it would make for your student to walk into class the first day feeling confident and eager to add the next steps to what s/he already has a strong command of.  That is quite different from walking in with only a vague recollection of what s/he was supposed to know and be able to use.
