Field & Forest, Art & Science: Ashwood to Offer an Array of Summer Camps

Ashwood Waldorf School is offering a diverse menu of camps this summer for ages 3 through grade 8. For the youngest campers, Ashwood’s nursery teacher, Tamara Rosenthal, will be leading five mornings of Field & Forest Camp for ages 3-4, August 9–13 from 9:00 am. until noon. Campers will explore the fields, waterways, and woodlands around Ashwood’s early childhood center looking for tiny creatures and plants, listening for birds, playing games, making fairy houses and creating art from materials gathered. Tamara, along with veteran early childhood and grade school teacher Marianne Böckli will a Field & Forest Camp for children ages 5-7, August 16–20 from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Campers entering grade 3-5 and 6-8 next year can sign up for the Art & Science full-day camp with Ashwood teachers, Tabatha Tucker and Robert Kaczor, August 16-20, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Half of the Art & Science Camp day will be devoted to artistic pursuits and half to scientific inquiry as campers roam the school’s 32 acre campus. Group games and lively activities will be incorporated throughout the day.
