CHOWDER CHALLENGE THIS WEEKEND!

Tue, 08/30/2022 - 12:15pm

Back by popular demand, West Bay Rotary once again is rounding up the best chowder from area chefs as part of this year’s Camden Windjammer Days. Members of the public get to cast their votes to see who takes home top honors on Saturday, September 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. under the big tent on the Camden Public Landing.

“We’re extremely excited to be bringing back the Challenge,” said West Bay Rotary’s Bruce Peel. “And we have at least six local vendors vying for ‘best chowder’ this year, so there will be a great sampling.”

Participating restaurants include Quarry Hill, 16 Bayview, Blue Barren, Graffam Brothers, Waterfront Restaurant, and French & Braun.

Each customer gets eight four-ounce cups of chowder along with a ballot to vote for their favorite. The winner receives a plaque and bragging rights for the coming year. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12. As always, the net proceeds go to local and international charities.
