The season is comprised of two opening weeks of programming featuring renowned violinist of the St. Lawrence String Quartet and Bay Chamber regular, Geoff Nuttall. Nuttall will be joined on Wednesday, August 4 by members of the Bay Chamber Music School Faculty for a free concert at the Rockport Opera House, beginning at 5PM.

On Thursday, August 12th, Nuttall, will be joined by a quartet of guest string musicians for two concerts: A Little Light Music at the Rockport Opera House at 7:30PM and on the following night, August 13th,  Bay Chamber brings back one of its most popular offerings, Candlelit Baroque, presented at the First Congregational Church in Camden also at 7:30PM.

Several free concerts for the community will be offered during the month of August and highlights include Jazz on the Water, on Sunday, August 15 at Rockport Marine Park at 4PM, two free concerts on the Camden Village Green and a children’s concert featuring Palaver Strings at the Camden Amphitheater all during the Screen Door Festival, August 18-22.

The Screen Door Festival, Bay Chamber’s jewel in the crown, is themed a story of tenderness, a dynamic series of 20 concerts designed to challenge, intrigue, inspire and excite.  Presented in partnership with the Camden Public Library, the festival will take place under a tent at the historic Bok Amphitheater. Inspired by a year of reflection and resilience this selection of performances pays homage to tradition even as they embrace innovation, celebrating the joy of music-making with more than 40 artists including The Rolston String Quartet, Andrew Wolf Award Winner, Orion Weiss, The Westerlies and many more. This season promises to be one of the most sensational yet! Visit www.baychamber.org for more information on summer plans, including COVID-19 safety regulations.
