Ashwood Waldorf School welcomes two new early-childhood teachers, Jen Corning and Morgan Wade, to their faculty for the 2018-2019 school year. Both Morgan and Jen are trained Waldorf teachers.

Jen Corning grew up in Wisconsin, and before moving to Maine in 2013, she spent time traveling and working throughout the U.S. From building hiking trails in the Sonoran desert to growing vegetables in central Washington, Jen's diverse experiences led her to Waldorf education. After completing a Lifeways Early Childhood Certification, she worked for two years at Ashwood Waldorf School as a kindergarten assistant. Last year, Jen served as an intern in a kindergarten class at Maine Coast Waldorf School, and is currently assisting in another kindergarten there. She will complete the Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Education program in July.

Morgan Wade grew up in rural Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. She studied creative writing and film as an undergraduate at Hollins University. She attended Waldorf teacher training programs in Seattle and Vancouver, learned from master teachers, and received her Waldorf early- childhood teaching certificate. She has been active in early-childhood classrooms for over five years, first as an early-childhood assistant and aftercare teacher at the Seattle Waldorf School, and, most recently, as lead teacher at a Waldorf-inspired farm preschool.

Ashwood Waldorf School in Rockport, Maine is an independent, pre-K through eighth-grade learning community offering a rigorous, classical education structured around the stages of human development. Ashwood's curriculum integrates science and mathematics with literature, history, and the arts, challenging and engaging each student.

The school is accepting applications for admission in fall 2018.
